Due to health considerations, the TEDxYouth@ChoateRosemaryHall Committee met online via Zoom instead of in person this week. The meeting began with each team showcasing their progress to the Committee, including presenting the work that has been accomplished or uncompleted, and whether they will require any help from other departments. After team presentations, each department worked separately on completing their assignments in three breakout rooms. Assistant Director Annika Lee ’23 also managed to meet one-on-one with every Committee member to discuss their views and suggestions for the future of the organization.

The Content section of the Creative Design Department managed to complete the vast majority of their assignments smoothly, including writing most of the member profiles that will be edited according to Yoyo’s feedback. The only challenge was finishing the third progress blog, which was delayed due to the assigned writer’s health issues but will be completed in the near future. As for the Visual section, the Team continued to develop speaker badges and edit logo designs following the feedback given by Department Manager Audrey Kaye ’22. They focused on integrating text and imagery while also ensuring all texts are legible and colors are complementary with each other.

In the Technology Department, the Online section managed to finish their Lo-Fi Prototype drafts on Figma and also started making websites on WordPress. The Production Team discussed the list of equipment that will be needed for the TEDx talk as well as the trailers that the Committee will be using to promote the event.

Lastly, the Outreach Department had a productive time collaborating with each other as well. The Community Team worked on accepting and rejecting emails while also having a content review after finishing the press release draft. In the Business section, members finalized the quotation and will be presenting it to Ms. Kazar on the following Wednesday in order to receive the budget. The team also plans on working together with the Visual section on the designs for the merchandise this coming week.

Overall, despite having to meet online instead of in person, the meeting went quite smoothly and saw great collaborations and high productivity. The TEDx Committee continues to refine the communication and meeting system. In hopes of allowing departments to have more flexibility to collaborate by themselves in their own time, Annika and Project Manager Yoyo Zhang ’24 have decided that committee meetings will transition to a biweekly schedule in the coming months until March. Therefore, departments will be arranging their own meetings next week, and meetings as an entire committee will be less frequent.
