Although there were no mandatory meetings as a committee this week, Project Director Yoyo Zhang ’24 and Assistant Director Annika Lee ’23 organized a brief meeting on Wednesday for members to chat about their progress, work, and ask questions. The Committee also sent out a form on Boarcast for the school to vote on the topics submitted by alumni applicants.

In the Creative Design department, the Content team continues to work on progress blogs and member profiles. Members Chloe Jacobs ’23 and Nick Ng ’23 worked on completing the remainder of the member profiles.  The team has also started producing a list of elements to include in the TEDxYouth@ChoateRosemaryHall publication. In  the Visual team, each member was expected to complete 2 sets of sketches for T-Shirt designs and 5 rough sketches for badges and stickers.

In the Outreach department, the Communications team worked to finalize the list of speakers. Members ranked the alumni speakers who applied via the speaker application form. The Business team also created a final budget list, taking into consideration the prices of merchandise and other necessities in the production of the event.

Finally, in the Tech department, the Online team got registered on WordPress—a program used to make and host websites. Members were also asked to create a functioning Home and About Us page. On the Production team, members drafted up a storyboard and script for the trailer of TEDxYouth@ChoateRosemaryHall.

All in all, the Committee is currently experimenting with different modes of communication and testing to see which is the most effective. As the event draws closer, the Committee is also working to be more efficient in their work. This Sunday will be the last meeting as an entire committee for the Winter term.  Members will touch base with their department heads, the project director, and the assistant director to ensure progress in the event preparation.
