This week, the TEDxYouth@ChoateRosemaryHall Committee kicked off its preparations with a meeting on Saturday wherein Project Director Yoyo Zhang ’24 and Assistant Director Annika Lee ’23 introduced the Committee members to the project’s overarching plan. Following the meeting, department managers Audrey Kaye ’22, Spencer Bowles ’22, and Anya Mobarak ‘23 were responsible for coordinating the tasks of their respective departments.

Ideas for merchandise found by the Visual Team
The Technology department led by Bowles is divided into the online and production sections. The Online team researched various TEDx websites, taking note of their features and layout, to inform the website-making process. Similarly, the Production team researched venues for the TEDx event.
The Outreach department, led by Mobarak, is divided into the communication and business sections. The Communication team started brainstorming ideas for selecting members of the audience, considering the event capacity is limited to 100 people. Members of the team also created profiles on the TEDx website, which is required to edit TEDxYouth@ChoateRosemaryHall’s event page on the website. In the Business team, Jimena Acosta ’23 found a reputable website to produce merch; the team is working on finalizing a set list of specific types of merch, prices, and links.
Overall, the TEDx Committee is on track in the early stages of preparing for the event and steady progress has been made. Next week, the Committee will begin using the research done to start creating the merchandise and website, as well as proceed with planning the TEDxYouth@ChoateRosemaryHall event.
